Lamb Tea Cosy Project Box

What better time than during Wool Week to bring you this adorable Lamb Tea Cosy Project Box. The Campaign for Wool’s ‘Wool Week’ event is a global endeavour initiated by its patron, His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales, in order to raise awareness about the unique, natural, renewable and biodegradable benefits offered by wool.

We’ve re-knitted this sweet Woman’s Weekly tea cosy pattern in 100% wool using Pure Natural Wool sourced from Edfords Care Farm in Norfolk and hand spun by the Natural Fibre Company at their wool mill at Launceston, on the Cornwall-Devon border.

Edfords Care Farm is situated on a 80 acre site in picturesque Norfolk and offers green space therapy for a wide variety of people, giving them the opportunity to work with rare breed livestock, grow their own fruit and vegetables and learn new skills like cookery. By stocking their Jacob sheep’s yarn (from their very own flock) we’re helping to support this amazing cause.

Due to the natural black and white colour of the fleece, Jacob wool creates beautiful undyed yarns. Thought to be one of the oldest sheep breeds in the world, Jacobs were extremely rare during the first part of the last century, but thankfully the efforts of a small number of enthusiastic breeders has meant they survived and their numbers are growing.

Our Lamb Tea Cosy Project Box includes:

• 1 x 50g ball of Edfords Care Farm Pure Natural Wool
• 1 x King Cole Merino Blend DK in White (001)
• 2 x 8mm Round Toy Eye Shank Buttons
• 1 x Lamb Tea Cosy Knitting Pattern (WOMA-WH211) and colour swap card
• 1 x ‘I love knitting’ sticker

You will also need: a pair of 3¼mm (No. 10) and 4½mm (No. 7) knitting needles, which are not included.

The completed Lamb Tea Cosy measures approximately 18-19cm/7-7½in high, to fit a standard four-cup teapot.
